Your worries and problems? Your snoring partner? Your quilt? Whatever it is, the more you worry about it the worse it gets. Most of us at some point in our life suffer from some form of sleeplessness. And for most, it’s soon resolved. However, there are few tips you can follow to improve your chances of always having a restful night’s sleep, just check our A to Zzzzz, of sleeping tips .

Because, as pleasurable as it is to snuggle up in bed, we don't just need sleep because it feels good. Sleep gives your body a chance to recharge and perform some essential functions. Sufficient sleep is vital for your health, so make sure you are getting enough of the good stuff.

Why We Need Sleep
During sleep your immune system is boosted as the body's cell production increases. Inadequate sleep impairs your immune system and could leave you vulnerable to illness.

A good memory needs a good night's sleep. Your brain processes and stores new information from your day while you sleep.

It is believed that neurons you use throught the day repair themselves at night. Go without sleep and your nervous system is compromised.

Adequate sleep is vital for a child's development and children need more than adults because their body releases growth hormones at night.

How Much Sleep?
Individual sleep requirements vary. However, for most adults seven to eight hours per day is ideal. Babies need about 16 hours per day and groing teenagers require nine hours of sleep.

People who aren't getting enough sleep have trouble waking in the morning, find it difficult to concentrate, are moody and may nod off during the day. If you do miss some sleep, you can make up your 'sleep debt' the next night with a few extra hours in bed.
